8 Tips to Prepare For Windstorms

Windstorms are common during the fall and winter months in California — are you prepared?

High winds can cause significant damage to homes, trees, and power lines, particularly in areas prone to severe weather.

Here are some tips on how to prepare and stay safe during windstorms:

Secure Loose Outdoor Items

Bring in or secure garden furniture, decorations and other loose items that can become projectiles in high winds.

Trim Overhanging Branches

Regularly trim trees and branches that could fall on your home or vehicles during a windstorm.

Check Windows and Doors
