Don’t forget to make a plan for your pets!
Wildfires, earthquakes and floods can change your life in an instant. It's important to prepare in advance before disaster strikes and include your pets in the planning.
You can start by creating an emergency supply kit for your pets which includes:
A week’s worth of food
A gallon of water
Medications and current prescriptions
Health and medical records (including registration papers)
A recent photo of you and your pet together
A pet carrier that can hold your pet comfortably for a few days if you are displaced from your home
A list of phone numbers with pet friendly hotels and friends
The name, address and phone number of your pet’s veterinarian
Proper identification for your pet
Tips for Pet IDs
Include a tag with your contact information and a tag with the name and number of a friend or family member who lives outside your immediate area.
